BUICK ENVISION VS. THE COMPETITION - JOHN MILES CHEVROLET
Compare the New Buick Envision to Other Compact SUVs in Conyers, GA
If you're seeking an SUV that's luxurious but affordable, the new Buick Envision offers the best of both worlds. This compact crossover has a plush, inviting interior you'll love spending time in. It also delivers a supple ride and a wealth of convenient, easy-to-use tech features. Other compact SUVs such as the new Infiniti QX55, Discovery Sport, and Ford Escape also have gratifying amenities, but they don't offer the overall excellence of the Buick Envision. At John Miles Chevrolet Buick GMC in Conyers, GA, we proudly provide the following comparisons to help you see why the Envision stands out from its competition.
Ride Comfort
Most of our customers want an SUV that rides comfortably on imperfect pavement. The new Buick Envision glides gently over most streets thanks to its well-built front strut and rear multi-link suspension. An optional adaptive suspension makes its ride even silkier. The new Infiniti QX55 has a firm ride that can be a bit jarring. The Ford Escape's ride quality is decent, but not exceptional, while the Discovery Sport is more tuned for off-road adventures than calm, relaxing city cruising.

Fuel Economy
Despite being equipped with standard all-wheel drive, the new Buick Envision earns a thrifty, 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. It also saves you money at the pump by not requiring premium fuel, as do some luxury SUVs. The Discovery Sport only returns 19 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. The Infiniti QX55 gets nearly the same gas mileage as the Envision, but it needs premium unleaded gasoline. The Ford Escape earns slightly better fuel economy than the Envision, but it comes with a weaker, three-cylinder engine and standard front-wheel drive.
Infotainment Technology
The new Buick Envision comes standard with a 30-inch digital dashboard with Google built-in and voice control, so you don't have to look down from the road to operate it. Wireless smartphone charging and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard for easy connections to your apps. The Infiniti QX55 and Ford Escape come with 8-inch infotainment touchscreens. The Discovery Sport has an 11.4-inch touch screen paired with a 12.3-inch digital driver display, but it has no knobs or dials for functions like volume or climate control.

Safety Tech
Your safety is crucial, and the new Buick Envision comes with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features to help you avoid potential hazards that could cause accidents. Eight advanced active safety features are standard in the Envision, including a head-up display that projects vital information onto the windshield, within your line of sight. The Infiniti QX55 also has eight standard driver aids, but a head-up display is just optional. The Discovery Sport and Escape have seven and four advanced active safety features respectively, but you must buy a higher trim to get a head-up display.
Cost
Despite having as many or more features than the Infiniti QX55 and Discovery Sport, the Buick Envision's starting MSRP is over $12,000 less. The Envision's base price is around $8,500 more than the Ford Escape, but it has nicer cabin materials and many more standard tech amenities. The Envision comes with synthetic leather upholstery, while the Escape comes with cloth seats. The Envision also has twice as many driver assistance features and a much larger infotainment touchscreen than the Escape.
